Changing your Light Bulbs Can Change your Mood

Mood can best be described as the way in which we feel at a particular point in time that is the way our minds process the environment through our senses. There are usually two extremes of mood that affect us. Good moods normally relate to you feeling happy or friendly, while bad moods give us the general feeling of being unhappy, angry or impatient.

The right Light Bulbs can help improve our overall well being by making us feel great and alert. The upbeat feeling you get on a bright sunny day is not at all by chance. It is the result of light setting off our bodies to release hormones that make us feel great. Light provides a natural boost that helps you feel better, increases energy levels and may even help you sleep better.

The energy we receive from the sun or other source like a lamp, etc. that makes it possible for us to see is what is known as light. We have used many different forms of light through the ages from the natural light of the sun and moon to artificial light sources that have been developed like the oil lamp, the candle and then the incandescent light bulb.

Nowadays, we use a large variety of artificial lighting including the fluorescent light bulbs, the halogen light bulbs and other light bulbs used for special purposes and effects such as strobe lights and neon lights.

It is of great importance for us to carefully plan the lighting of our buildings, homes and offices to create the right atmosphere for a good mood of the occupants. The lighting you will use in your office where brightly lit fluorescent bulbs may be appropriate is quite different from what may be required in a bar or restaurant for example where a more relaxed atmosphere is desirable.

We should however be cautious with the use of light bulbs. It has been revealed by research that some people, most especially introverts, tend to be distracted or worn out by excessive sensory stimulation. If you are that type of person, it is advisable for you to use low wattage CFL light bulbs even as you try to avoid clutter and noise in your workplace or home.
