What areas of the business or commercial lighting applications are you shopping for? Often, once you narrow down the location of the lighting fixtures that you’re looking for, you will be able to narrow down your options as well. You will be able to limit yourself to lobby areas or outdoor security lighting. By thinking and planning ahead, you’ll be much more prepared to go out and buy the right commercial lighting fixtures when the time comes. Just make sure that you take the time to see what’s out there and that you don’t rush into anything. After all, you can’t very well get what you want if you don’t know what that is.

One of the great things about lighting fixtures is that they are just as varied as the people who are shopping for them. Even when you think that you’ve seen it all, or you know exactly what you’re looking for, you might be surprised when you see something else that catches your eye and grabs your attention. One of the best categories for lighting fixtures is the incandescent and compact fluorescent market. Many people are getting away from incandescent lightbulbs, but have beautiful light fixtures that they don’t want to part with. Fortunately, compact fluorescent lights fit right into the standard incandescent sockets, meaning that you can keep your beautiful fixtures and even buy new lighting fixtures that are designed for incandescent lights and save some money instead of buying bigger or more expensive fixtures for other types of light. Plus, with compact fluorescent light, you’ll save about 75% of the energy that you used to use with incandescent bulbs, making your electric bill much more bearable and your carbon footprint a little lighter.

It isn’t rocket science to find and buy lighting fixtures, but it can often seem just about that complicated. You really just need to take the time to weigh all of your options and find the solutions that best suit your needs. There are nearly limitless options for commercial lights, whether you’re shopping for commercial or residential applications. That is why you need to have a small idea of what you want (or even what you don’t want) in mind before you get started. Then, you’ll spend less time looking and feeling overwhelmed and more time getting the right ones and getting them installed so that you can move on to your next project.

There is a lot of thought that goes into commercial lighting fixtures. Just make sure that you take the time to focus on all of the different elements separately so that you get exactly what you need, and no more or no less. There is nothing worse than rushing into something or getting overly anxious and missing out on perfectly good lighting options or styles of lighting that you can work with. Take some time, gather your thoughts and ideas, and get the exact ones that you want, need, and love at prices that you can afford. If you shop around, it won’t be hard to accomplish all of this in one fell swoop, so keep these things in mind on your quest for commerical lighting fixtures.

LED light bulbs, also known as light emitting diode light bulbs are a much more energy efficient solution to lighting. They use very little electricity at all, and have no filament to deal with or heat generation that causes them to burn out. When you have a typical lamp, it is far more likely to burn out faster because it wastes a lot of heat. However, LEDs are lit up by electrons that move around in a semiconductor material, which means almost no heat is emitted and they don’t have the hassle of traditional lamps. They can even be more effective than fluorescent lamps, except that they have a few flaws of their own to deal with before they take on the mainstream.

LED light bulbs are very tiny, so it takes many, many LEDs to create an actual usable light for residential or commercial use. This makes the entire process cost-inhibitive because when it costs more to make an LED lamp than you can sell it for, no one’s making money. Right now, you could expect to pay upwards of $100 or more for ONE lamp that is made from LEDs, which proves that they might not be ready for mainstream America just yet. Sure, LEDs are great for signs, such as exit signs and small applications. They can also be useful for lighting in RVs, boats, and other situations that use 12 volt lighting.

CFLs (compact fluorescent lamps) use about 20% of the electricity of traditional lightbulbs. LED light bulbs use about one forth of the electricity of CFLs. That means that if LEDs were able to be manufactured more affordably, you could light your home and pay 1/16 of the energy costs that you’re paying now. How great would that be? Everyone is looking for ways to save money these days, but the LED lamps just don’t have what people need to be able to convert completely. They are still very expensive to make and cost a lot of money to purchase, which makes them an ineffective solution for almost everyone. However, the future is bright for these tiny little lights, because if they can find a better means of production they can take over the residential and commercial lighting world with ease.

As it stands, no one can really afford to pay the price for LED light bulbs. Even though they are much more energy efficient and don’t contain any mercury like fluorescent lights do, they just need a little more oomph to get them into the mainstream markets, including a better production method that costs less so that the lights can sell for less, as well. The materials that make LEDs are expensive, and there are so many needed to make even one really effective light for home or commercial use, which is what is preventing people from being able to capitalize on this little lighting miracle. The light from LED light bulbs has been noted to be a little odd unless you are able to spend hundreds of dollars on high end bulbs and fixtures. This, again, reflects on the expense of the manufacturing process and bringing down the costs of LED light bulbs manufacturing.

Philips has recently debuted a new LED that is known as the LUXEON Rebel, which is deemed to be the brightest LED available that is capable of producing more natural light colors so that it doesn’t appear as odd. Once again, that still doesn’t solve the expensive issue with LED production. Too many people are looking to save money, and they’re likely going to stick with

Most grow lights are so cumbersome they limit what you can do with a plant. They come with heavy ballasts that require complicated mounting systems, forcing you to bring the plant to the light, not vice-versa. Wouldn’t it be great if you had a light that could easily be suspended above the plant without a hefty mounting system, or a light that just clipped onto a windowsill or shelving?

LED grow lights offer that kind of versatility. There’s no ballast, so you don’t need hefty brackets to mount the light. The light can simply be hung above the plants. LED lights can easily be attached to windows or garage shelving, making them ideal as extra light for houseplants as well as good for starting a collection of starts and seedlings. This lets you bring the lights to the plants, improving the flexibility and setup of your indoor garden.

LED grow lights aren’t heavy. In fact, they weigh no more than a typical reading light. This allows for ease of mounting. You don’t have to worry about the plants coming undone and crashing to the ground. As the setup of your indoor garden becomes simpler, the plants become easier to manage, saving you hassle as you have the flexibility to adjust placement according to the growth of the plants.

The possibilities that can become realities through LED technology allow you to get creative. There are no limits to how you can set them up, allowing for greater flexibility in arranging the indoor garden. This can be especially helpful if space is an issue as the lights can easily be arranged in a confined space. You can turn any extra space in your home into a vegetable producer, from an extra room to a closet to a space the size of a small desk.

Plus, you enjoy serious energy savings with LED lights, as much as 80 percent when compared to HPS lights. This lets you grow more without ramping up the electric bill as the use of the lights is virtually undetectable. Less of a carbon footprint is good for your budget, your environmental conscience and helps you keep a low profile. Why be the biggest user of energy on the block when you can grow an ample indoor garden using no more electricity than it takes to run your average reading lamp?

When you give plants the exact frequency of light they need, you really notice a difference in the rejuvenating growth. Not all light is the same. Certain frequencies of sunlight are used by plants to create photosynthesis and encourage healthy growth. When you use a light that has those exact frequencies, you are getting the maximum light growth potential for your plants.

That’s why LED grow lights are so ideal. They produce an ideal frequency of light for plant growth. LED lights can be used to grow seedlings to get a head start on outdoor gardens, or they can be used to produce entirely indoor crops. Their ideal light is great for vegetative growth as well as flowering and vegetable production. LED lights also present an ideal spectrum for plants, mimicking the ranges of natural sunlight that encourage photosynthesis for ample growth and full flowering.

In addition to an ideal wavelength of light, LED lights are extremely efficient. One 90 watt LED light produces as much light as a 400 HPS bulb. You can add several lights to your house and not even notice the difference on your electric bill. This means no carbon footprint, leaving no impact on the earth. Their use is undetectable. You use no more energy than leaving a living room lamp on all night.

Plus, LED grow lights are extremely easy to set up. They don’t require a heavy ballast, so there’s no complicated mounting involved. You simply hang them above the plants. Many lights often come with hanging kits to make it simpler, but any plant hook and string will do.

They also produce very little heat, so the lights can be set in close approximation to your plants for maximum growth without damaging them. HPS lights need to be placed at least a foot or two away from plants. The farther away they are, the less light they get. In fact, a plant that has an HPS placed two feet away receives a quarter of the same light as a plant placed a foot from the light. With LED lights, plants can be placed right under the light, enjoying the maximum light for vegetative growth.

With their ideal spectrum, ease of use, and lack of heat, LED lights are revolutionizing the indoor gardening industry, creating a growing phenomenon over night.

Want to maximize the power of your indoor garden without maxing out your electric bill? An LED plant light is 80 percent more energy efficient than a HPS light, but still provides the best light for your plants. That means a 90 watt LED light produces as much light as 400 watt HPS light, which can mean serious savings to your electric bill. Running two 90 watt LED lights will cover two different 12 foot growing areas, but cost no more electricity than leaving the garage and porch lights on at night.

In fact, LED lights are also simpler, easier to set up, and don’t require any complicated wiring. This makes them not only easier to use, but safer as well. You can grow an indoor garden of fresh vegetables with peace of mind, knowing your gardens are protected against fire. All you need to do is plug the light in with no more fire risk than a typical household lamp. Since the lights don’t require a ballast, there’s no complicated rigging involved. They can simply be suspended from the ceiling above the plants. In fact, most LED lights come with their own simple mounting systems to make hanging the lights a breeze.

Not only is an LED plant light less of a fire risk, but it won’t even scorch or dry out your plants. Light efficiency greatly diminishes the farther away a bulb is placed from plants. Plants placed two feet away will receive a quarter as much light as plants placed a foot away from the light. Because of the high heat intensity of HPS bulbs, placing them too close can actually burn the leaves of your plants, drying them out and inhibiting growth. Thanks to their lack of heat, LED lights can be placed in direct proximity to the plants, getting the most growth impact from the light.

Yet LED lights provide the ideal lights that plants need. LED lights create the same spectrum that plants use for photosynthesis, making them ideal for not only starts and seedlings, but vegetative growth and flowering. It’s an ideal spectrum of light for growing the healthiest peppers, tomatoes or beans all year round.

LED is not only convenient, but also environmentally beneficial. They have virtually no carbon footprint. In fact, their use is undetectable, which is good for the environment. You can install several lights with no difference to your electric bill. They’re an ideal light for indoor gardens, making year round fresh vegetables a reality. Why go to the grocery store when you can enjoy fresh food throughout the year?

Why limit yourself to an outdoor growing season? Life’s too short, and grocery store vegetables don’t cut it when you could be enjoying fresh vegetables throughout the year. Why not taste summer year round? Even if you live in a city where it’s winter five months out of the year, indoor gardening is always an option.

Indoor gardening is easy, productive and fun. It makes a great hobby that’s not only satisfying, but produces fresh food throughout the year. Any extra indoor space you have can be converted to a small vegetable garden. The laundry room, the closet, and the windowsill can be vegetable producing areas, growing fresh food even when it’s snowing outside.

To mimic the light of the outdoors, however, you need a quality grow light bulb. There are several options on the market, each with different cost advantages. Before purchasing grow lights, however, consider all factors. How many seasons will you grow? What are your electricity considerations? Do you have a large or small space? Considering the logistics of your indoor garden will help you decide which lights are best for you.

An LED light may seem like the more expensive grow light bulb on the market, but that all depends on how long you plan to use it. If you only plan to grow one season of vegetables just to give it a try, they probably aren’t for you. If your indoor gardening will probably last for more than a few seasons, however, they are worth investing in. While most fluorescent and HPS lights need to be thrown out and replaced every growing season, LED lights can be used for up to a decade and still provide plenty of energy for beautiful indoor gardens.

HPS lights are cheaper, but require more energy. They are ideal if you’re just looking to give indoor gardening a try and don’t want to invest a lot in the beginning. They require more energy than LED lights and need to be replaced every year, but they are reasonably priced and a great way to begin.

Fluorescent lights use less energy than HPS lights and should be replaced every year. They are ideal for growing starts and seedlings to give you a start on outdoor growing or to produce indoor plants from seed.

Whatever your grow light bulb needs, choose the light that suits your situation, budget and design. Keep in mind, however, that if you plan to grow for several seasons, the extra investment of higher priced lights will easily pay for themselves over time.

Growing organic? Better double-check your soil. Unless you’ve owned your yard for generations and know exactly what’s been done with it over the years, you can’t always be sure that the backyard is organic. Just ask the Obama’s. Their organic soil went to sludge after it was discovered that the land was contaminated by the Clinton’s. Hilary Clinton’s garden was fertilized by sewage, which is actually pretty common, but it’s against the rules for organic gardening. Now Michelle Obama’s garden can never be organic, thanks to what had already been done to it by previous owners.

Even if the Clinton’s have never gardened in your yard, you don’t know who has and what’s been done to the soil over the years. To truly grow organic, always test your soil. With an indoor garden, you choose the soil yourself, so you can ensure it’s organic from the beginning.

Special soil selection is what makes indoor organic gardening so ideal. You selectively choose your soils based on your organic preferences and the vegetables you are growing. All it takes is plenty of water, good soil and rejuvenating light. It’s easy to mimic the outdoors and do your gardening indoors by supplying these three key ingredients. Plant soil in clay pots that have room to breathe. Supply your lights with plenty of ultraviolet light with growing LED lights.

When it comes to indoor growing, LED lights present many advantages in terms of function, shelf life and electricity savings. They are easy to adapt to any growing area as they require no wiring and can simply be plugged in. They also don’t have any heavy ballasts, and many come with hanging kits that make them easy to suspend from the ceiling.

LED technology provides the energy sustaining light of the outdoors to indoor plants while using just a little more energy than it would cost to leave your porch light on all night. It allows for ample indoor growing where you set the perimeters. You can select organic soil and fertilizer from the get-go and know you’re growing organic. When it comes to outdoor soil, you really never know. If the Obama’s are going to grow organic, they’ll have to use other community gardening plots in town.

You may wonder about the expense of LED technology, but actually they are much cheaper than HPS or fluorescent lights when you consider their energy savings and long lasting lifespan. Your typical HPS light is really little more than junk after a season or two, while an LED light can last nearly a decade providing a maximum spectrum of energy efficient light.

With LED, growing is maximized to its supreme efficiency. Not only do LED lights last 10 to 20 times longer than HPS lights, but they also use very little energy, saving you money on your electric bill. In fact, you can add an LED light to a home to adequately cover a 12 foot growing area and use no more than 90 watts of energy, but produce as much light as a 400 watt HPS light produces. You won’t even notice the difference in your electric bill when you bring one into your home, and neither will the electric company.

Plus, with LED, growing becomes that much safer. HPS lights can run dangerously hot, burning your plants if not starting a fire that burns the whole house down! LED lights produce virtually no heat. There’s no need for a fan, and you can place the lights close to your vegetables without worrying about damaging their leaves.

An investment in LED lighting is an investment in the future, providing plenty of adequate growing light for a decade to come. While the cost may be higher than HPS or fluorescent lights, they’ll actually save you money, as they won’t need to be replaced every season.

They are also better for the environment as they stay in your home producing vegetables and gardens season after season instead of just being thrown away after the first harvest. Less trash means less waste and less impact on the environment. The less impact you make on the earth, the less your efforts will stand out and be noticed.

Prices need to be compared by more factors than dollar price alone. You have to consider how long the lights will last, how much energy they’ll use, and how long you plan to use them. If you are serious about indoor gardening and growing fresh vegetables and plan to grow for more than a season or two, LED lights are actually the more cost effective option. Even if they may cost you a little more up front, you’ll save money in the long run with rich, bountiful harvests year after year.

Do you live in the city, but love fresh herbs and vegetables from the garden? Have you always wanted a green thumb, but lacked the outdoor setting to really grow for yourself? Why not try an indoor garden?

Many may be discouraged from indoor gardening because of the reportedly high energy consumption. Fresh herbs and vegetables are nice, as is the extra savings on your grocery bill, but is it worth the higher costs you’ll pay for electricity? Plus, increasingly high electric bills can stand out, drawing attention to yourself in ways you might not expect.

Have you thought about starting an indoor vegetable garden with LED UFO technology? LED lights use hardly any electricity and are virtually undetectable. You won’t even notice the difference in your electric bill.

With one 90 watt LED UFO light, you can produce as much energy as a 400 HPS light and adequately cover a 12 foot growing area. You’d use just a little more energy than leaving the porch light on every night. LED technology allows you to grow an efficient indoor garden, enjoying fresh vegetables without high electricity costs.

Plus, the lights are cool, producing virtually no heat, so you can angle them close to the plants for maximum light power without scorching the plants. It also saves you the trouble of cooling fans or ample ventilation. You get maximum leverage from the light without the damaging effects of heat.

LED lights are also simpler and lighter than HPS lights, requiring no ballast. They can simply be hung above the plant without complicated structures. In fact, each UFO light comes with a mounting kit that makes hanging simple. The simplicity of design gives you maximum versatility in arranging your lights around your plants.

You also save yourself complicated wiring jobs with LED technology. They simply need to be plugged in. The easy setup, combined with the lack of heat, virtually eliminates all risk of fire, giving you a peace of mind as well as a healthy supply of fresh vegetables and herbs.

Grow an indoor garden year round, even if you live in the city. Growing indoors maximize your growing potential throughout the year, providing a healthy diet of vegetables and herbs for little investment costs. Why not put your green thumb to use growing your own food? Any extra space in your house can become a virtual food producer.

Interested in indoor gardening and growing your own fresh peppers and tomatoes but fear the risk of fire? Get technology you can depend on that’s as easy to set up as a reading lamp in the living room.

LED technology doesn’t need the expert skills of an electrician. All you have to do is plug it in. In fact, simply by hanging one UFO LED light, you can provide plenty of light to a 12 foot vegetable growing area using just a little more electricity than a typical living room lamp.

A UFO LED light uses 90 watts of electricity to produce the same light that a 400 watt HPS light. Discreet, these lights produce virtually no carbon footprint, so they’re good for the environment. You won’t even notice one on your electric bill any more than if you purchased outdoor lighting for the porch and made a habit of leaving it on all night.

Plus, they are easy to install. Each light comes with it’s own hanging kit. Since there’s no ballast, they can easily be suspended from the ceiling.

LED lights also produce hardly any heat, so you won’t scorch or damage your plants. Place the lights close to the plants for maximum energy without worrying about burning the leaves. You also don’t need worry about cumbersome or noisy exhaust fans since heat is no longer a factor.

LED lights are some of the safest grow lights on the market. With no heat, you don’t have to worry about fire. Because the electrical connection is simple, you don’t have to worry about sparks from a fried circuit burning down your entire house.

Grow fresh herbs and vegetables with the peace of mind that your operation is safe. Get the maximum efficiency from your electricity so that you hardly use any at all. Arrange the lights conveniently without heavy mounting systems or cumbersome ballasts. Save the complicated wiring for the computer or stereo when you have lights that are easier to use than a typical reading light. Fear fire and detection no more. Enjoy the peace of mind that only fresh vegetables and herbs can bring with solid confidence that you’re doing so safely.
