I had been thinking about purchasing a new aquarium for some time. I had a smaller tank that was thriving with fish and other aquatic life and I wanted a larger version. But I also knew how expensive all of the components were for my first tank and I did not want to have to pay high prices again in replacing all of the essential mechanisms that would not be compatible with a new tank. I had purchase my first aquarium from a pet store. The aquarium itself was on sale but the rest of the equipment seemed overpriced. Of course there was only one pet store in town that carried aquarium supplies so I had little choice.

My wife suggested that I look online to see if I could find aquarium equipment. I had never thought of looking online for aquarium equipment before but I know that my wife regularly shopped online and found a lot of great deals. I browsed through several websites that had large supplies of filters, marine lighting, and other integral pieces of equipment. I was amazed by the selection that was available online and even more surprised by the prices. I had been paying very high prices for replacement bulbs and new filters. I had just assumed that I needed to continue buying them from where I bought the original marine lighting and filtration devices.

I had no idea that the exact same brands were available online for much more affordable prices. The high cost of the replacement marine lighting bulbs were one of the reasons why I had postponed setting up a new aquarium. But my aquarium has brought me endless hours of enjoyment and it has become a wonderful hobby. Every visitor that comes into my home is mesmerized by the beautiful fish and aquatic set up that I have. Once I got a hang of managing the aquarium I wanted to expand.

As soon as I received the new equipment I set up my new aquarium. I knew that it would be a long project since I wanted to transfer all of my fish and coral into the new tank. I also wanted to introduce new aquatic plants and fish into the new tank. The finished product was well worth all the hard work and the expense. The tank was large and the focal point of my family room. My children even preferred watching the fish opposed to the television.
