An overhead fluorescent grow light is a great way to start seedlings indoors. These lights will provide your seeds with the amount of lighting that they need to germinate quickly and to grow fast. I had always been an avid gardener and I decided to set up a bit of an indoor greenhouse in my garage. I wanted to buy an affordable light that could hang from my ceiling over a table that I had set up next to my space heater.

I saw that fluorescent grow lights were affordable and they would be perfect for the location that I had set up to start my seeds. I also like the fact that I could start off with one fluorescent grow light and add more at a later date if I liked the results that I got. I was sick of paying the high prices at my neighborhood nursery for flowers and vegetables. I knew that once I set up my own indoor nursery there would be tremendous saving. On average I would estimate that I was probably spending somewhere around one thousand dollars a year on all of the plants that I purchased for my flower and vegetable gardens.

If I purchased the fluorescent grow light and bulbs, a table for my plants, and all of the seeds and seed starter kits I would still be paying less than that amount. And the following year, my only expense would be seeds so I would be saving a tremendous amount of money. I bought all of the required equipment that I needed and set everything up in the location that I had ready.

Once winter was close to being over I decided to start my seeds. I had bought numerous flower seeds and vegetable seeds and I could hardly wait to plant them. I placed individual seeds in the cellular containers that I had purchased with some potting soil and sprayed them with a spray bottle. I turned on my fluorescent grow light and waited for the magic to happen. Within a few short days my seeds had sprouted and were stating to grow. These seedlings seemed to grow at an incredibly fast rate. I could not believe the impact that the lights had on them. The plants grew tall and strong with excellent root structures. They seemed to be much sturdier than the plants that I bought from my local nursery.
